April 2016 Quilt Donations to Sheriff’s Department

Deputy Lionel Pierce represented the Sheriff’s Office and received the 61 Cruiser Quilts that the Creative Quilters had made.  Cruiser Quilts are made all throughout the year and are given to the Sheriff’s Department twice a year, in April and October.  The quilts are used to comfort children that have to be taken out of their home for safety reasons, for accident victims, fire victims or any person needing comfort.  There is good evidence that physical warmth has an antidepressant effect.
